Nope, my father is Jerry Ferguson (I’m a JR.) I don;t think we are any realtion to Ray Ferguson though I often hear his name associated with the lake area & construction jobs he was involved with. Thanks for reading the blog & taking the time to write!

Jay, By any chance was your fathers name Ray? I knew a ray ferguson that did construction work for my father’s company in Harford county.(Lynch construction) he was a great individual and was in the roofing and siding business. My 90 year old father aften speaks about him. Dick Lynch

I am a native of Garrett County and have been having a debate with someone over dates of first snowfalls….u seem to be very knowledgible and thought maybe you could possilbly lead me to an accurate history of FIRST snowfalls. Your help would be appreciated….

Yep – it was cleared last Thursday by the Department of Environmental Health. They are continuosly monitoring it, too – water samples, etc.

Jay, Thank You for the story about the Fireworks. I was one of the 6 shooters and you dont know how good it makes me feel to hear how much everyone enjoyed it. I have shared this with the other shooters on the Team. I was stopped 4 times in the Wisp Hotel lobby Monday morning when my family were checking out and everyone thanked me and was amazed at the show. We had the same reaction last year as well. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Hugh Umbel and only learned of him Saturday morning when I arrived for the setup, but his support made the show what it was. We try very hard to make the show as exciting as possible and from the sound of it, our 14 hour day on the 4th was well worth the effort. (We started at 10:30am and finished at 12:30am) You and all the residents of Deep Creek have a Resort area to be very proud of and I (and our team) are proud to have put on a show that is being talked about with such joy. Hopefully, we will be the team to shoot again next year. Till then, enjoy your summer!
